Wannaskan Almanac for Tuesday, October 11, 2022 What is it?

What is love?  That question has plagued humanity for years.  Why do we feel the way we do?  Why do we do the things we do?  What is love?  Only a fool would try to answer.

I do have a few theories though.  Oh for crying out loud.  I just read what I wrote above and realized that I must be a fool.  Instead of offering my theories I will turn to the minstrels of the day...rock and rollers.  Enjoy!

So according to Foreigner, love is a feeling.  And, if you watch the video, seems to have a lot to do with squinting.  This feeling is not to be confused with constipation.  Okay, I will try again.

My take...seems like love is more than a feeling but also that you don't really know it until that special someone (Marianne in this song) is gone.  I am wondering if this song was in response to Gilligan's Island being cancelled.

I wanna know why can't this be love?

Once again, the consensus seems to be that love is a feeling.  The song seems to question that if it feels okay why can't it be love.  I don't know about that.  Some people have made me feel pretty okay but I am pretty sure it wasn't love.

So what is love?  I am scared to pretend I have a clue, but it seems like it would be:

Intentional

Blind

Unselfish

Considerate

Thoughtful

Eternal
