Sunday Squibs

 



Appreciating the beauty and genius of the Sciences takes much study.

The Arts are as wide open as a carnival.




There are mixed emotions at a house closing: the realtor feels joy, the buyer anxiety, and the seller, a sweet melancholy. 




A meaty podcast is up there with AC and cruise control at making a long car trip bearable. 




Lots of people can’t be bothered to follow the news; they prefer to wait for the movie. 




Which came first, the internet or all the increasingly  complex problems we ask the internet to help solve. 




Our enemy, Time, besieges us in our inner castle. But our stay there will be pleasant if we’ve maintained our well, stocked the library and kept open the secret passageways to our friends. 




The warts on our face can be surgically removed. Those on our soul can only be loved. 




Jesus said let your yes be yes and your no be no; anything more is from the evil one. I pray follow-up questions are ok.




The Universe is constantly trying to swat us like flies. Luckily, the Universe’s swatter is full of holes. 




No job is truly difficult once you’ve learned all the ways it can go wrong.

    1. My brain has not always been an asset. When I was young I used to get slapped by middle-aged women for my impertinence. I had no idea why.
      My age protects me now from assault.
