Sunday Squibs with the Chairman

The young don’t view their future while sitting in the shade. The old do not regret a bit the bungee jumps not made.

Eternity’s in a second when speaking to the gov’.
Time enough for yes, no, or none of the above.

He’s shaking up government is our President Richter. He’s even bringing the roof down with him.

Mosquitoes and flies resist leaving your car when you roll down the windows. Birds and moths zip right out, no questions asked.

If flowers didn’t go to seed, there’d be no flowers next year. It’s not like that with people.

The asteroids keep missing us. We’ve been lucky for a long time, but one of these millennia, God’s going to look away.

  1. Free-verse poem, one line per squib:

Does Elvis regret his shades or his jumping?
    None of the above.
Shake, rattle, and roll that roof down
'til the bugger pulls out again.
Elvis waits patiently holding a lily,
feeling lucky - for just a tiny asteroid - in just the right spot.
