Wannaskan Almanac for May 5, 2020 I Can't Drive

Wow...is it Bonza Bottler Day again already?  It seems like this crazy little day happens every month.  Which it does.  Bonza Bottler Day is when the day of the month matches the number of the month.  So 1/1, 2/2, 3/3...all the way up to 12/12 (or 13/13 on ultimate leap years) is known as Bonza Bottler Day.  Read more about it here.  You can also make plans to join us for the Wannaskan Almanac Quintessential Bonza Bottler Day Cruise being planned to coincide with March 3, 3333.  Spots are filling up fast so get that 33 dollar down payment in as soon as possible.
Today is also Cinco De Mayo.  The festival is celebrated in honor of 1862 military victory over a superior French force.  The festival was 'invented' in America by a group of students back in 1967.  Each year since then Cinco de Mayo gets bigger thanks to people of Mexican descent - and those who just like a good margarita!
Today is also Hand Hygiene Day.  So...wash those mittens you naughty kittens!

As you can see...if you can't find something to celebrate this week then you aren't trying hard enough!

55 is the age where you can be considered a senior citizen.  Almost all of the writers for the Wannaskan Almanac are far older than 55.  Many are closer to 155.  The southern writer is much younger than 55.
55 used to be the national speed limit.  Then it was raised to 65...then 70...then finally whatever that guy up ahead of you is doing.
The song "I can't drive 55" by Sammy Hagar would make a great theme song for whatever you are celebrating today.  It is a great song to have on the radio when you are pulled over for speeding.  It really makes the cops laugh.
Hopefully you are able to get out and about.  If you are still in lockdown you can read about the events above.  You can even get margaritas delivered to your house.  Thank you Uber Eats---I mean Uber Drinks!

  1. Cue music from The Twilight Zone...
Rod Serling: Imagine if you will, a world where Cinco De Mayo falls on Taco Tuesday,
only to be ruined by a virus named after a Mexican beer.

    1. Oh, the horror!

My "speed limit" isn't even 45. (Yet!) I have one month and 2 days before all that changes....
