Wannaskan Almanac for Tuesday, March 4, 2025 Carry on My Weigh-Ward Son

 March 4, 2025 is ...

63rd day of the year. There are then 302 days left in 2025.

9th Tuesday of 2025.

on the 10th week of 2025

74th day of Winter. There are 16 days left till Spring.

Today we observe:

Mardi Gras--Fat Tuesday

Paczki Day--A celebration of Polish pastries

Shrove Tuesday--Pancake Day

Carnaval (Martes)--Chile and Bolivia's version of Pancake Day

World Obesity Day--Observed in South Africa, United Kingdom, and Australia

It seems to me that March 4 is all about celebrating carbs or condemning carbs (this will probably change as most engines are EFI anymore).  It is interesting that there is either a celebration about fat or fat inducing foods or a lamentation about obesity.  I plan to put on my sweatpants and celebrate both sides of that coin!

Mardi Gras, also known as Fat Tuesday, is a lively and festive celebration that takes place the day before Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent in the Christian calendar. The name "Mardi Gras" translates to "Fat Tuesday" in French, and it traditionally represents a day of feasting and indulgence before the fasting period of Lent.  The celebrations are most famously associated with New Orleans, Louisiana, but Mardi Gras is also celebrated in various forms around the world. The festivities often include parades with elaborate floats, costumes, and marching bands that create a wild atmosphere.

What a nice collection of beads

World Obesity Day happens every year on March 4th. It's a special day to teach people about obesity and find ways to deal with it. On this day, organizations share information to help everyone understand why obesity happens and what can be done to prevent it. They also work to change laws and healthcare to better support people dealing with obesity. There are events like workshops and community activities that encourage healthy living, and social media is used to spread the word. Another important part of the day is fighting against negative stereotypes and showing a honest view of obesity. The aim is to help people learn more and take action to improve health related to obesity.

A day where no beads are available to be earned

So today you can either indulge your sweet tooth or sweeten your health.  I guess you could do both in moderation.  Sounds like something they would do in Canada.  Enjoy your day!

  2. Why do ppl get so dang fat? Too many unnatural processed weenies maybe. I blow those up in the microwave when I wander around the kitchen for too long. They go POOF.
All natural cheesey weenies though, they keep my face right at the microwaves door. No POOFS with those yummy babies!
All this hot dog thinkin is makin me hungry. Favored snack option - the all natural cheesey weenie.
Seemingly the healthier coinkydink for me, eh?!
The best, I can use my bonfire pit now that the snows thawed just enough.
    Microwave not even needed. 🥳
