A Sick Week

Hello and welcome to a lovely Saturday here at the Wannaskan Almanac. My name is Antonin Hruby and today I will be doing the post this week (all by myself.) Today is January 25th.

Paragraph: 1 Monday

When it comes to Mondays Garfield is my friend and by that I mean I DISLIKE Mondays. But this particular Monday was worse MUCH WORSE because...I.. GOT. SICK.Not at home but at my mom's work. At first, my mom thought I was being obnoxious but then I got a chance to talk to her then I told her I wasn't feeling well so I went home.

Paragraph:2 Tuesday

Long long Tuesday I wake up darkness keep sleeping darkness eleven o'clock finally bright then I'm tired. On Tuesday I had to stay home from school and I slept and chugged tea ate popsicals and ate saltine crackers. But I also read a book for forty minutes which was fun then I had dinner.

Paragraph:3 Wednesday

On Wednesday I still stayed home because I was still sick which was bad but I got to have pancakes for dinner and those were good.

Paragraph 4: Thursday

Mom here. Antonin perked up considerably on Thursday. He still stayed home, but he was a busier body, wanting to do the homework his teacher sent home, wanting to watch TV, and wanting to play on the PS4. We optimistically had him go to Lego League practice for an hour. He was like a happy puppy bounding to the car, glad to see his fellow Brick Bobs. After Lego League, kids and I made not one, but two homemade pizzas together for Thursday's dinner and to take with us to Grand Forks this weekend for the Lego League competition. Antonin was still pretty perky, dancing and singing along to Sandra Boynton's Blue Moo (Playlist available on Spotify!) We were feeling optimistic he'd be able to go to school on Friday.

Paragraph 5: Friday

And then he slept over 12 hours. Yeah, he wasn't going to school.

Paragraph 6: Friday Night

Antonin rested up and felt better, so we decided to stick to the plan to go to Grand Forks for the kids' Lego League tournament. All was well until we arrived at the hotel, and his older sister woke up after the car ride with a red, sore, puffy eye.

The season of sickness can end any day now.

  1. Sick in German is Krank which works for me because I get cranky when I’m sick.
    I hope everyone is better
