Why is teaching so difficult? Well...
In the world of baseball, if you argue a call with the umpire you get thrown out of the game.
In the policing world, if you don't follow a lawful order, you get arrested.
In the courtroom, if you don't follow a lawful order you get big consequences.
But in the classroom...if a student is disrespectful, threatening, lazy, or defiant (among other things) they can receive consequences all the way up to...a lunch detention. Talk about your serious repercussions!
So be nice to the teachers you know! We put up with mucho...and that means a lot!
Yes but you forgot about the escapist truant child.
ReplyDeleteIf you've ever heard a story of one of those, it leads to more of a detention type of facility where they force you to scrub white walls.
Thanks teaches.
You know, not being a baseball fan (Yeah, can you imagine?) I sorta enjoyed watching "Charlie Manuel Getting Pissed Off."
ReplyDeleteI suppose a sadistic personality would. 🤷🏻♀️
DeleteIt's not that at all, really. I just wondered how 'Charlie' gets away with exploding like this, at what I perceive, advanced 'senior' age: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KUUJrBGERc. In fact, how either of these gentlemen can keep a straight face, nose to nose. I'll bet they're really great friends and meet somewhere after the game for a few beers laughing their gray-haired heads off; they may even be brothers-in-law or a comedy duo. You can see Bob Davidson smile a bit at the end as he walks away... Oh yeah, it's a gag. All for show.
DeleteYou right WW.
