The realist raves at nothing.

Some religions believe God has forgotten Himself and the game is to help Him remember. But did He have to lose Himself in a minefield?

The proverb tells us to leap up in the morning as though our bed was a frying pan. This is easier to practice in June than December.

I swore old age would not slow me down. I should have also sworn off riotous living when I took that oath.

The ideal friend will listen to a dull story with as much apparent pleasure as he tells a good one.

Two ants may marry, but never two grasshoppers. A grasshopper must marry an ant, or perish.

When the scientists are played out, send in the philosophers. And when they've done their best, the theologians.
