Sunday Squibs

March 4, 2018

Patience, after gathering the low hanging-fruit, gets a ladder, not an ax.

When every little wave is amazing, how do we stop ourselves from sinking under the sea of Ho-hum?

Talk with the small town historian for an hour, then try to say the world is not a web of gossip in which you too are stuck.

The time traveler will be surprised and perhaps disappointed to find how similar to our present selves we were....and will ever be.

A haze of smug self-satisfaction blinds me to the lurking open manhole that awaits.

Not up for sainthood: liberal, open-minded, likes to have own way. Well, two out of three ain't bad.

I need to remind myself to be open to life, not closed down. But sometimes I like a day off from the expanding universe job.

We all bang our keels on the reefs of life. At times it's a barnacle scraper, at others our whole bottom gets removed.

The history book shows things have been far worse in the past. No consolation for all the suffering caused by bad leaders.

Is your anxiety like a river? Rivers have an end. Or is it like the ocean? Then you'll need the Coast Guard.

The Celts of old were a curious race. Fighting and drinking then fasting for grace.

The only thing you can do for a celebrity, really the only thing they want from you, is to be left alone.

I'm being solicited to sign up for the afterlife, but I'd like to know more about the present management first.

It's certainly easier to ask for forgiveness. Doing time is the hard part.

LOL is over the top. I prefer SMILE: Silently making interior laughter explicit.

  1. Squibs grow to fill the void in the open-minded mind-void of the squibster.
I also like the THINK in sign in Bonnie's store and in Mattson's Pharmacy:
    True? Helpful? Inspiring? Necessary? Kind?
Most of today's squibs are 5 for 5.

  2. Squibs are loved by "his nibs"
For certain they are meant for tickling ribs
And if you like them call out dibs
They're not for children wearing bibs
I do not lie; I do not fib

Lent has its virtue, eh? Funny what we can get done when our hands are free--look at these tons of Squibs!
