June 4, 2019 The Wannaskan Almanac Strikes Again

The word strike has many different meanings.  The most popular definition has to do with bowling.  For example, I intend to strike someone if they make fun of my bowling abilities.
The word bowling also has many different definitions.  A popular definition has to do with sports.  The Buckeyes football team won the big ten again (as usual) and then went bowling.
Buckeyes are made from chocolate and peanut butter.  You can find the recipe here.
Now that you are totally confused with where this blog is going we can begin.
What are some interesting words in the English language when it comes to multiple meanings?  Well, try these out for size:

The weather forecast in Wannaska today calls for a 50% chance of most types of weather. It could be cloudy, sunny, or partly cloudy.  There is a 100% chance of that.  It is about a 50% chance of precipitation, but there is only a 25% chance of that.  If you go outside and immediately start to feel water raining down on you then it is probably going to rain.  Dress accordingly.  If you feel hot ash raining down on you immediately flee from the Mt. Wannaska volcanic range into the Wannaskan plains.
Thank you, I promise to write soberly next time.

  1. The varied writing styles in Wannaskan Almanac, including yours, is what makes WA so enjoyable. People aren't stuck with reading just droll articles full of dates, albeit factual, of events or people in history--they can read your blog too. There has been hardly a one that doesn't elicit a chuckle out of me, but then I am of a weird sort anyway.
Just another one of your fans, even if you are from Kansas, Dorothy.
